I cannot express enough how amazing Heather is. She came by to our house for the newborn photoshoot and not only did she bring props for the baby, but she was so kind to bring a dress for me since we decided to do a photo shoot last minute and I was not prepared. She was able to accommodate all of our needs and made the photo shoot really fun and full of energy with positive vibes throughout. HIGHLY RECOMMEND her to my friends, family and everyone out there!

If you are searching for a maternity photographer-Heather is the absolute BEST! I was very nervous about doing a shoot during COVID because I wanted to be as safe as possible and I wasn't sure what precautions would be taken. After speaking with Heather on the phone and going over her protocols, I immediately knew that I would be in great hands.
I loved looking through Heather's portfolio and her sunset silhouette photos were stunning. I knew that this is the style that we wanted to have. Heather brought all of the wardrobe and styled me for each shot. I have done several photo shoots before and trust me-having a knowledgeable wardrobe stylist makes a huge difference!! She was such a pleasure to work with and we really appreciated her attention to detail. She is easy to work with and knows exactly how to capture your special moments on camera.
I am more than pleased with the results and am so happy that we found Heather!! We will definitely be using her services again. I highly recommend her for your photography needs. She is truly THE BEST!

We just had our first of 4 sessions with Heather and it was better then I could have every imagined. She captured every feeling me and my husband had about being pregnant and the joy we have in every photo. She has true artistic talent. She gave us great suggestions leading up to the shoot, took the time to select outfits for me and styled me beautifully for every shot! The location was amazing, but what was truly amazing was what was captured with every shot! We will forever be grateful for the memories Heather has given us with these pictures. We look forward to our newborn and family sessions with her too! If you are looking for someone who cares, is reasonably priced, and takes the time and care with you, your family, and every photo then you have found the right place!

Heather is a total professional and absolutely relentless in producing the perfect photo session for you and your loved ones.
I had the pleasure of working with her not once, but twice, and hopefully many more times to come. She did my maturity photos and then our newborn pictures.
With the maternity shoot, I was looking for a more original, boho and eclectic vibe than the standard 'ol boring poses of preggo gals on beaches. I called around to about 4 photographers, and hands down Heather had the best packages, unlimited wardrobe changes, look to her photos, and pricing. She was easy to get a hold of and down to earth yet very straightforward. I see some of these Groupon 'deals' and some advertised online that were limited to one or two wardrobe changes and 30 min to an hour. Super lame. How in the world do you do two wardrobe changes in 30 minutes when you're seven months pregnant?! And they charge an arm and a leg for hair and makeup which I didn't need.
We quickly booked a shoot date in Malibu (I drove in from Laguna Niguel in OC) and were able to do two different backdrops (ocean and woodsy) about 70 feet from one another. 3 hours, and what seemed like endless wardrobe changes later, we had a slew of amazing shots to choose from.
We didn't hesitate to book our newborn photos with her as well after seeing her portfolio on those. She was on time to our home and worked hard for a few hours to get amazing shots with our little peanut. The pictures are magnificent and we received so many compliments on them. They made the perfect announcement photos. I'm really glad she stressed doing them so early on- 5 days after our little girl was born. Another fabulous shoot. She even helped me get set up with my pump that I had no idea what all those parts were used for.
Basically, she's a boss. She knows her craft far better than those who've more recently tried to jump on this bandwagon. Aside from that, she has a shining personality that you'll just fall in love with.
Needless to say, the three of us are fans. Thank you Heather! You rock!!

Heather is amazing!!! I am from Calgary, Canada - my boyfriend & mom were in touch with Heather to plan a photoshoot "surprise engagement"! Without me knowing what was about to happen, she was so lovely and very easy to talk to. She is truly a natural at what she does and we really enjoyed our time spent with her! I highly recommend hiring her for any photo shoot you have in mind. The photos are stunnnnninnnggg & we can't wait to book with her again when we are back in Cali :)

Heather is the BEST! I hired her for a family photo shoot and she was absolutely incredible from beginning to end. She was great at giving pointers about what color clothes to wear and was very thorough in clear about what the photo package included.
The day of the photo shoot she took the time to find the right and most beautiful spots where we could take photos. The way that she set my family up in the photos and the fact that she knew where to have us stand so the sun would not affect the quality of the photos just showed her level of professionalism.
After the photo shoot was done she kept true to her word of having a few pics sent to me right away so that I could see how everything turned out. Heather made the process so pleasant and fun for my entire family and she was great with getting the children in my family to smile. If you need to hire a photographer, you do not want to miss the opportunity to work with Heather. She is truly a great photographer and all-around great person to work with!

She's amazing! We had our photoshoot at Point Dume in Malibu and it was so beautiful. The photos were better than anything I could have imagined!!! My boyfriend and I had never taken professional photos and we both enjoyed it so much. You can tell she has been doing this for a long time. She is very professional, extremely prepared, and excited to make you look good. Heather is very welcoming and has a wonderful spirit which makes her super easy to talk to. Any concerns you have will be addressed. She brought all the outfit changes which took a lot of stress off of me. I'm excited to have her shoot our little girl when she arrives!! Taking maternity photos was at the top of my list because this is my first pregnancy and I'm so happy I chose Heather. She responded to my request so quickly and with such high energy. After the shoot she sent us sneak peaks the same evening!! And she took the time to get us a couple photos early for our baby shower. I highly highly recommend her. You will have a wonderful experience, great quality photos, for an amazing and affordable price!!!

Heather did an amazing job. We had a Senior portrait and Family session at the pier. The pictures were perfect, and even the teenage girls were thrilled (hard to do). The pictures were provided quickly. Heather was helpful prior to the session and communicated her ideas and answered our questions. Her fees are very reasonable and the product is high quality. Her personality makes the process easy.

I had an excellent experience with Heather at A La Mode Photo. I am 100% convinced she is the guru of maternity photography! Her style is untouchable, she is highly talented with a unique style and eye for this art. I discovered Heather by doing an Internet search, and while searching I stumbled upon many other "maternity photographers." Yet, none of the other on-line portfolios were comparable to what I saw when I viewed Heathers on-line portfolio. Heather has a way of capturing the true spirit of pregnancy. I love how many of her photos are taken by the water, I feel like this acts as a metaphor for the baby growing within a belly, surrounded by amniotic fluid.
By taking pregnancy photos on the beach it provides an artistic connection to the power of the pregnant woman.... which truly is "goddess like." And Heather will capture the goddess within you! Personally, I am a very "camera shy" personality, but was pleasantly surprised by the experience and how comfortable Heather made me and my family feel. It was fun! The photo shoot with Heather, of my family and I, felt like a celebration of my baby! What a wonderful way to honor the pregnant journey. In addition to being impressed with the actual photo shoot, I was also very impressed with the results!
I am very happy with the wide selection of photos and the professionalism Heather has demonstrated throughout the process. She returns calls and emails promptly and enthusiastically, she assists not only during the shoot (by styling you and helping you to pose), but before the shoot and after the shoot with any questions, concerns and / or follow up photo selection. She is truly invested in her client, creating the ultimate experience of feeling sincerely cared for, as she provides excellent customer service.
On a personal note, here is my "bottom line" opinion: If you are pregnant, and looking for a photographer, look no further. Working with Heather, and taking photos of this amazing transformation in your life is a must! I never spent money to do this in my previous pregnancy or even to have a professional photographer at my wedding... and I regret that. There are certain times in your life that should be documented. Heather provides an invaluable experience and can beautifully document this precious time in your life... don't let that opportunity pass you by!

We had an amazing and magical experience during our photo shoot at the beach. I felt so beautiful and empowering with Heather. She really is good at doing what she does, she teaches you how to pose and makes you feel confident and in trust with her. She even had a dress for my daughter to wear in which she felt special too and all the gowns and dresses for me.
