Isn’t is absolutely fabulous when you get to your photo shoot and your are dressed so perfectly and it looks like you just walked out of a magazine? Well, I can make this happen for you! A few General Rules and One Big Tip, and you will be on your way to the perfect holiday card ever! General outfit advice Your outfits: choose whether you want Classic, Floral and prints, colorful, dark + bright, or light + airy. Once you've decided, then consistency is key. Here is your cheat sheet: Classic: Timeless style, chinos, khakis, beige and blues, nature-hues, pastels, shirts, and simple dresses. Florals and prints: Just florals, or an eclectic mix of prints and patterns. Stripes never work. Colors: Keep them complementary as opposed to completely matching (e.g. all white shirts and blue jeans). Avoid stark contrasts such as green and orange/red together. Complementary colors are more like warm tones (yellows, oranges, pinks, warm red and even warm greens) together and cool tones (blues, purples, greens) together. Dark+bright: Darks for adults, and lights or brights for small children.
Light + airy: This is very in style now. Light shades of peach, pink, off-white, baby blue, grey and white mixing together so that everyone flows together. As with everything in life. Consistency is key! Consistency: Avoid extreme differences (e.g. one person is wearing a casual knitted chunky sweater and the other is wearing a nice silky dress). ONE BIG TIP! - Be sure to iron your clothes before the photo session so there are not huge wrinkles distracting from your faces! Pressed clothes look so nice since we are such a wash and wear society!
